ICAR-IIOPR developed a fungal biocontrol agent, Aspergillus sp. R55 against Rugose spiraling whitefly infesting oil palm. The biocontrol agent is able to control pest to a tune of 94.4% in a two year multilocational field evaluation in farmers’ plantations. The technology “Aspergillus sp. R55, a biocontrol agent for rugose spiraling whitefly along with its mass production technology” was commercialized to two firms, Bio we, Auto Nagar, Vijayawada and Sree Jayadhatri Biosolutions, Gopannapalem, Andhra Pradesh.
